Zhù Chǔ Hú

柱础壶
Ancient architecture, reimagined for your morning tea.

The Zhu Chu Hu takes its elegant shape straight from the stone column bases of ancient Chinese architecture — that satisfying curve that swells inward at the waist before flaring out at the base. This particular example was crafted by the legendary Gu Jingzhou in 1943, during his creative prime, giving it serious collector cred. It's the kind of teapot that feels both grounded and graceful, like it was born to sit on a scholar's desk.

Gu Jingzhou (1915–1996) is often called the 'Sage of Zisha' — his signed pieces are among the most sought-after Yixing teapots in the world, and a genuine work from his mature period can fetch tens of thousands of dollars at auction.
