The Xuehua (Snowflake) Teapot is a geometric marvel handcrafted from 23 individual clay slabs fitted together with remarkable precision — its hexagonal form echoing the delicate symmetry of a snowflake. Born in the 1970s from the legendary hands of master Gu Jingzhou, it carries the traditional blessing that 'timely snow heralds a prosperous year,' making it as meaningful as it is beautiful.
Every single surface — body, spout, and lid — is built by joining flat slabs of Zisha clay by hand, a painstaking technique that demands razor-sharp precision, since even a hairline misalignment would throw off the entire snowflake geometry.
