The Small Square Qianjian Basin is a rare gem from 1983, crafted by the legendary Gu Jingzhou during a deeply personal chapter of his life — a trip to Shanghai to care for his wife. With its clean, squared silhouette, uniform walls, and pure Zisha clay, this piece proves that simplicity and precision can be just as breathtaking as elaborate ornamentation. The carved decoration by Xu Xiutang adds a delicate artistic touch, making this basin both a functional object and a quiet work of art.
This basin was gifted to Gu Guodong, the very teacher who assisted in its creation — a touching full-circle moment where the student received the master's work as a token of gratitude.

此紫砂盆帮 1983 年顾景背赴沪为妻子治疗闫疾期 学顾国栋老师的帮助而制作 。 承四矮足， 简洁端庄 - 整体造型沉稳敦厚 ， 骨 盆壁顾景稍题写铭文“国栋先4 E存玩 景舟 身久刻梅花踊影， 勾勒出“玻影横斜水清浅 ， ，既点缀紫砂 委单调的外表 ， 恰当得体, 由徐秀棠刻饰 ，落款 “四方小千简盆”，胎体细腻 ，厂质纯正，平沿 ， 肉匀亭 ， 制赠"， 化 神 间，为了答谢淮海中 展壁略厚 , 直腹 ，底 线条明快简洁 。 见证双方的友诈 。盆 瞳香浮动月黄昏”的诗意美 同时又不影响整器简约庄重之外形，装 “癸刻之春秀棠写梅并锥”。
