疏部下泪
A master's farewell whispered in clay.
The Shubu Xialei, or 'Teardrop from Sparse Branches,' is a poetic creation by the legendary master Gu Jingzhou, crafted in the late 1980s near the end of his celebrated career. Its name evokes a lone raindrop trembling on a bare winter branch — delicate, fleeting, and quietly beautiful. Bearing multiple personal seals from Gu Jingzhou himself, this teapot is as much a signed work of art as it is a vessel for tea.
Did You Know?
Gu Jingzhou is considered one of the 'Seven Masters of Yixing' and his personally sealed teapots are among the most sought-after in the world — collectors have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for a single piece.
